The bridge department will start paying the cost of construction to the finance department from fiscal year 2021-22. It is expected to be repaid within 35 years. Secretary of the bridge, Khandaker Anwarul Islam, said the finance department had recently signed an agreement with the finance department to refund the Padma bridge. The bridge authorities will pay the loan money according to the contract. The amount of time to pay is specified in the contract itself.
