Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has purchased drones and thermal image technology from Israel to increase surveillance on the Dhubri border from Meghalaya to Kuchbihar in West Bengal. In a report released on Monday, German media quoted Deutsche Welle as citing the leading Indian media, The Hindu. India's media reports did not specify how many drones India had purchased from Israel. However, the price of each drone is mentioned as Rs 1 lakh. These drones can take two kilometers in the day or at night. Basically, the BSF will use these drones in Assam's Dhubri sector to prevent trafficking and surveillance in the border areas. BSF's Guwahati border inspector general Piyush Moria told the Indian media that trafficking usually took place at night outside some border surveillance areas. Now, due to the deployment of the drone, the picture can be found here. He said these drones can always send pictures from a height of one and a half meters. Drones are specially designed for endless flying. Normal drones have to be brought down for battery replacement after flying for 5 minutes. BSF's Guwahati border inspector general said drones are likely to be out of control in strong winds. But BSF-bought drones will not have this problem. He also said that the thermal image sensor technology was purchased from Israel along with the drone. It can detect the presence of humans, animals or any other animal in the soil or underwater. The five states of India have a border of 4 thousand 5 km with Bangladesh. The river is just 5 km along the 20 km border with Assam. Of these, the Khasraota Brahmaputra is spread over a distance of 4 km BSF sees the surveillance on this border as a challenge. Answered by Birds of the sky (2 Golds) Tuesday, 05 Nov 2019, 12:06 PM |
