Recently, many people associated with the freelancer and IT sector are facing various problems due to the tightening of Bangladesh Bank in the field of international transactions through credit card. State Minister for Information and Communications Junaid Ahmed said the corridor would be relaxed soon. In a Facebook post, the minister said the matter had come to the notice of PM's Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Jai. He directed the Governor of Bangladesh Bank to resolve it quickly. The welfare of the freelancers and the expansion of the IT sector will be relaxed within a short time. On November 7, credit cards were tightened to stop 'illegal foreign transactions' in the entire transaction. Credit card users have suffered. There are two instances behind the sudden imposition of the Bangladesh Bank in the case of foreign transactions with credit cards. First, Uber's services paid by credit card ride sharing services go directly to Uber's bank in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The calculation is conducted in US dollars. Bangladesh Bank says Uber's service fees paid to this country are going straight to foreign countries due to payment of foreign currency bills on credit cards. Recently, some customers of a private sector bank in the country have done business of trading shares on the stock exchanges with credit cards. Some are also buying lotteries. Through this, people concerned that money is being smuggled abroad. The central bank imposed a crackdown on foreign credit card transactions on Thursday. According to the data of Bangladesh Bank, the number of credit card users in the country as of last August is 12 lakh 8 thousand 524 people. In June, credit card transactions were made at Tk. In all, in June, 25 million 1 thousand cards were used. Credit card transactions in April and May were Tk 5,900 and Tk 2,520 crore respectively. The leaders of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) recently met with the central bank on the issue. In a statement, the company said that the recent decisions have affected people and organizations directly and indirectly involved with digital marketing. Every year, Facebook, Google and other foreign online billions are being paid. A number of banks have recently stopped paying for this card. Again, there is no opportunity to pay the price in the digital marketing sector from the dollars allotted to the travel quota. Individuals and organizations are experiencing business loss. Chinese tech giant Huawei has no barrier to US tech company Microsoft from selling software. Microsoft authorities say they have received US government approval to export the software to Huawei. On November 27, the US Commerce Department approved Microsoft's license. A spokesman for Microsoft confirmed to the news agency that the news agency told Reuters, "I applaud them for responding to the US Department of Commerce on our request." Last Wednesday, the US government approved a three-month extended license for Huawei to receive US goods and services. Even after Huawei was blacklisted in May this year, the US Commerce Department allowed US companies to purchase their parts through temporary licenses. As a reason, Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross said some mobile network service providers in the remote parts of the United States depend on Huawei's 3G and FourG network technology. Considering those users, it was decided to extend the license. Answered by AL MaMun (4 Golds) Sunday, 24 Nov 2019, 02:05 AM |
