The highly effective character tool Pegasus is now being discussed in the technology world. This tool has been used to capture smartphone information of important people around the world by exploiting WhatsApp security flaws. The spyware, Pegasus, is being developed by NSO Group, an Israel-based surveillance technology maker. The company is also known as Q Cyber Technology. Cyber rogue or hackers use the Pegasus tool to set their goals. In this way, a missed call to a WhatsApp installed on a set provides an opportunity to capture information. To monitor someone's phone or add a Pegasus agent, they call from a number unknown to a number of WhatsApp. Voice calls were introduced on WhatsApp in 24 and video call service in 20. In May this year, WhatsApp authorities acknowledged a security error in their calling feature and reported that it had been fixed. Six months after the incident, last October, Pegasus maker NSO Group sued WhatsApp for misusing its security flaws. Pegasus is considered to be a very expensive intelligence tool or program. NSO Group sells the tool to government agencies in different countries. Experts say Pegasus is a much different program than the usual espionage program or tool online. NSO Group began its journey to Israel as a maker of technology products and services used in the surveillance sector. Pegasus is the most well-known espionage tool in the world. More than 5 employees of the NSO group work behind the tool. The valuation of the NSO Group exceeded $10 million in 2017. The NSO group claims that they only work with affiliated government agencies. Everyone knows that it is used by the Panama and Mexican governments. According to information provided by the NSO's website, it provides advanced technology services to government agencies in different countries to identify and prevent local and global threats. Government intelligence and law enforcement members assist government agencies in tackling the challenges of encrypted criminal matters. Pegasus's work requires a huge IT infrastructure in the backend. This infrastructure is set up in a whole setting. According to Pegasus data, they configure and implement Pegasus hardware and software for customer needs. To create the whole system requires a WEB server, communications module, cellular communication module, permit module, data storage, server security, system hardware install, operator console and Pegasus app. Operator terminal or desktop PC is required to launch Pegasus on a minimal module. It takes a Core 8 processor, 4GB of memory, a 128GB hard drive and a Windows 8 operating system. The system requires two units of 32U cabinets, networking hardware, 3 terabytes of storage, 1 server, UPS, cellular modem and SIM card. Pegasus Spyware works on Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Symbian and even Tizen operating system. The challenge of spying using Pegasus is to install it on a mobile phone without the user being unaware. One of the most effective and popular ways of doing this is phishing message or alluring message. Pegasus Agent can be installed on the device by clicking on a message or a malicious link on a mobile phone. However, many times the user may have unintentionally installed Pegasus on a different device. If someone becomes the target of a cyber rogue and does not have a mobile number or e-mail ID, then Pegasus is secretly collected from the base transceiver station (BTS) and installed. When installed on a Pegasus device, cyber rogue can also send SMS records, contact details, call history, calendar records, e-mails, instant messaging, browsing history information. Pegasus spyware can be removed from WhatsApp as well as messages from Viber, Skype, BlackBerry Messenger. It can also take pictures secretly, record phone calls, capture audio in the neighborhood. Hacker can also take screenshots from a mobile phone without the user's knowledge. The scariest thing is that after removing all the data from the device, the user can unknowingly delete the Pegasus agent remotely. As a result, there is no evidence of spying on the phone.
