Mediterranean diets are becoming popular around the world. Research says that adherence to this particular diet significantly reduces the risk of type-2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and obesity. It has high amounts of unsaturated fats like vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, grains, fish and olive oil. It is also recommended to eat less meat and dairy foods.

Getting into the mediterranean diet is a bit of a stretch

Mediterranean diets are becoming popular around the world. Research says that adherence to this particular diet significantly reduces the risk of type-2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and obesity. It has high amounts of unsaturated fats like vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, grains, fish and olive oil. It is also recommended to eat less meat and dairy foods.

Some tips for getting used to the Mediterranean diet

Avoid unnecessary laziness or speculation over breakfast. Wake up, eat fruit, oats, red flour and other fiber rich foods in the stomach.

Eat marine fish twice a week. Tuna, salmon, sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Use healthy oils. Olive oil, nuts, sunflower seeds, olives and avocados can be on your daily list of healthy foods. Drink 3 to 5 glasses of water a day. Eat vegetarian two days a week. Make it a habit to eat vegetables, bread, non-yogurt or cheese and various types of fruits. If you can't get two days, get used to such food at least one day.

You can eat fresh fruit as a dessert. Choose strawberries, melons, grapes or apples instead of ice cream, cakes or other baked goods.

Sample of a Mediterranean diet

Breakfast breakfast: boiled eggs 3, red flour bread 2 and vegetables (tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cucumber etc.)

Snacks: a fruit (apple, banana, orange, pear, guava, etc.)

Lunch: Red rice rice, vegetables, fish

Afternoon snacks: Seeds or nuts (nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.), one to two cups of unsweetened yogurt or cheese.

Dinner: Medium sized flour contains two loaves, vegetables and one fruit.
