Answer(s):

In general, blood proteins, especially albumin, are not supposed to be excreted with urine. However, doctors sometimes warn of a diabetic or high blood pressure patient, that his urine is getting sick. In addition, the urine may be absorbed in the stomach and for various reasons. This is called proteinuria or albuminuria. This problem is often identified as the first step in kidney failure.

There are no symptoms of this problem. However, when protein levels are increased in the urine, the ankles, hands, stomach or mouth become swollen, feel weak, the urine solution becomes white. If you have too much protein, it is called nephrotic syndrome. The main solution to this problem is to control uncontrolled glucose and blood pressure. If the kidney has complications or disease, it should be treated. In addition, proper diet plan is also needed.

Low protein diet is helpful to reduce proteinuria. However, protein should not be completely excluded from the diet. Malnutrition can result in loss of muscle mass. Again additional protein is deposited as toxin. Therefore, according to body weight, protein should be eaten as needed. For example, if a person weighs 5 kg, he will eat 3 to 5 grams of protein daily. Protein is available from fish, meat, eggs, milk etc. However, salt is high in processed fish. Therefore, fresh fish and meat should be eaten. Without eliminating pulses from the diet, you need to eat as much as you need to meet daily protein needs.

Salt or sodium control is also important (no more than 2 grams daily). Potassium and phosphorus should also be considered. Patients with proteinuria are more at risk for high blood fat and heart attack. So eat less of the fat, especially saturated fat.
