Answer(s):

Large data leaked again from Facebook

260 million user IDs, phone numbers, and nameless names have been leaked from Facebook. That information was stored online in the form of a database. Technology experts fear that the leaked information could be used for fraudulent acts such as spamming and phishing.

Security expert Bob DiChenko recently discovered a leaked database of information from Facebook, according to data from Comparitech, a UK research firm. On December 4, that database was indexed online. However, the database has now been removed. Until the database was removed, a hacker was found to be a downloadable file in the forum, Comparitech reported.

Most of the people whose accounts have been removed from the information leak this time, are US citizens. The leaked information includes Facebook ID, phone number and full name.

In the case of Facebook, the leakage of information is not new. Facebook information has been leaked several times this year. Last November, information was leaked from Facebook and Twitter through a malicious third-party app. Thousands of Facebook group members have been criticized for leaking information. Last September, the mobile number with millions of Facebook accounts was found in an online database. The database contained personal information, names, identities and other sensitive information.

Researchers say unsafe public databases are causing problems for Facebook. Last April, security researchers at UpGuard discovered more than 5 million Facebook user comments, likes, and other information on Amazon's cloud server.

Earlier, the UK's political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica was accused of collecting 87 million user data from Facebook. Which later became known as the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Facebook has also been criticized for storing millions of user passwords in plain text format.

Researcher Dyachenko said Vietnam-based miscreants are likely to collect this information from Facebook in two ways. They can grab friends lists, pictures and group information using Facebook's Application Programming Interface (API). In addition, it can collect information from public profiles using automated technology.

Technology experts say Facebook's recent data leak raised questions about Facebook's security measures. In addition, users have been worried about what information they will provide on Facebook. Diachenko told Compartek that the leaked information could be an incident of collecting information illegally from Facebook or removing information from Facebook by using a security error in the API. Collecting or scraping illegal information from Facebook is against Facebook's policies. However, information can be easily collected using the user's public profile settings.

A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement that they were looking into the matter. However, they believe that such information may be collected before they can change their security.

Experts advise that you do not use the same password in all accounts on online platforms including Facebook. Regularly update passwords for online privacy protection. Password management may seem like a problem to many, but if it becomes a practice, the account will be protected in the event of information leaks. This is why 'Friends' and Do You Want Search Engines Outside of Facebook to Link to Your Profile in Facebook Users' Privacy Settings All the Time? The question has to be answered with 'no'.

Be careful when Facebook users receive suspicious and deceptive text messages, Diathenko warns.
